HIDROSTANK EQUIPMENT IN THE SARDINERO STORM WATER RETENTION TANK, SANTANDER (SPAIN)

The new stormwater detention tank consists of a concrete structure with a volume of 176 m3, occupying an area of 19×11 m2. HIDROSTANK SL has supplied our tipping buckets and Spillway PAS Screens, which guarantee the good operation of the tank. The construction of the storm tank in El Sardinero (Santander, Cantabria), carried out by Aqualia, has meant an investment of 851,084 euros, charged to the resources allocated annually as a fee for the execution of new works, improvement or renovation of the networks. This project will substantially improve the environmental conditions of the pre-existing spillage by avoiding the discharge of water from the first washing into the sea, as this facility will also carry out a purification task by cleaning the dirt produced by the dragging of the water on the ground. The operation of this Storm Water Retention Tank (#DRAT) can be seen in this good and educational video by Aqualia: Foto: eldiarioalerta.com

PAS-type weir screens at the Munitibar WWTP

At the end of last year, HIDROSTANK supplied its PAS type spillway screen, together with a tipping bucket cleaner, at the WWTP in Munitibar, Vizcaya. The Bilbao Bizkaia Water Consortium has recently commissioned the Munitibar wastewater treatment plant and its associated collectors. The works, which have lasted almost three years, have involved an investment of more than 2.7 million euros, financed by the agreement signed with the Provincial Council of Bizkaia. The system designed by the Bilbao Bizkaia Water Consortium consists of a treatment plant for the correct treatment of wastewater, a pumping station, a general collector and associated collectors, and a storm tank, which will prevent overflows into the Lea riverbed, with the consequent environmental improvement of the headwaters of the river. HIDROSTANK has worked closely with the technicians of the joint venture formed by Ferrovial Agroman and Cadagua in defining the solution finally adopted. Hidrostank designs, manufactures and installs PAS- type spillway screens, one of which is installed at the Munitibar WWTP. HIDROSTANK SUPPLIES ITS HIDROBOX ATTENUATION CRATES iN THE FIRST GREEN PEDESTRIAN CROSSING OF PAMPLONA, NAVARRA (SPAIN)

HIDROSTANK has supplied its HIDROBOX attenuation crates (also known as Storm Cells, Soakaway Modules, and StormCrates) in the first ‘green’ pedestrian crossing in Pamplona (Navarra, Spain), a new sustainable proposal that also improves pedestrian safety. In response to the need to eliminate visual obstacles in the five metres before pedestrian crossings, Pamplona City Council has launched the first ‘green’ pedestrian crossing, a sustainable proposal that consists of creating a landscaped area in the space that would be occupied by the parking spaces before the crossings. This initiative guarantees pedestrian safety by increasing visibility at crossings and calming traffic, and enhances the value of this space gained from the car for pedestrian enjoyment and the improvement of urban quality. The ‘green model’ pedestrian crossing provides a nature-based solution to climate change adaptation by integrating a sustainable urban drainage system (SUDS) provided by a small non-irrigated garden. This ensures that rainwater is filtered into the ground, favouring its natural cycle and cleaning it before it returns to the aquifer, and prevents flooding by reducing runoff at times of heavy rainfall, which is becoming more frequent due to climate change. It also increases urban green space and its ability to cool the environment, which benefits people’s health and prevents the urban ‘heat island’ effect. HIDROSTANK has worked closely wi
